Introduction

I am Franz Hartinger, my home base is Haag in Lower Austria.

I am a re-born Christian and my favourite Bible passage is Psalm 23:

“The Lord is my shepard, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul: He leads me in the paths of rightousness for his names sake.
Yeah, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;
For you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You annoint my head with oil; my cup runs over, surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

I worked for the BMW Group as Project Manager until 2015 and I am retired since. I traveled a lot for BMW, even lived abroad for 19 years (Germany, South Africa, England, India).
It might not be a surprise that I am still “addicted” to traveling.
With this Website I would like to share my journeys.
I move with my motor home, my bicycles and on foot.

My desire to travel is inspired by some statements:

  • “We travel to conpare our imagination to reality.” – Mark Twain
  • “The path is the destination.” – German idiom
  • “The most dangerous ideology about the world is from people those people, who noever looked at it.” – Alexander von Humboldt
